Since 1957, Zixton Secondary School has stood as a symbol of academic excellence, discipline, and leadership, producing generations of distinguished professionals, scholars, public servants, and community leaders across Nigeria and beyond.


Our Story
Zixton Secondary School, originally known as Zixton Grammar School, Ozubulu, was founded in 1957 by Hon. Vincent Chukwunyelu Ikeotuonye as a co-educational boarding secondary school. The school officially commenced academic activities on 24 January 1957 and has remained a respected institution for quality secondary education in Nigeria.
For nearly seven decades, Zixton has produced distinguished individuals across academics, medicine, engineering, politics, sports, business, public service, and other fields of human endeavour.
Founder & Visionary
Hon. Vincent Chukwunyelu Ikeotuonye, MP; BA (Lincoln), founded Zixton Grammar School with a vision to provide quality education that would shape future leaders and contribute positively to society. His legacy continues to inspire generations of Zixtonians around the world.

Legacy of Excellence
Zixton Secondary School quickly established itself as a centre of academic and sporting excellence. Within its early years, the school achieved remarkable success in football competitions, including winning the prestigious Phensic Cup and competing in the final of the Manuwa Cup. Some players later progressed into Nigeria’s national football team, the Green Eagles.
The school has also produced notable academics, medical professionals, engineers, administrators, entrepreneurs, musicians, politicians, and community leaders whose contributions continue to impact Nigeria and beyond.
